Beatrice's Heart

You find yourselves in the seats of a darkened theatre. The stage's plush red curtains are currently drawn closed, though there are stairs on either side of an orchestra pit, leading up to the stage area and backstage. Other than that, if you squint, you can see a couple of side exits to the left and right. Of course, there are doors behind you leading to the lobby and the main entrance.

There is a foul smell here, old and rotted flesh and blood, and if you look on the ground you might even see some of it.

...I can't decide what to do with them by myself.

Clair just looks at him in a distinctly "Do you think I can" way.

[sighs and takes both seeds out of his pocket, holding them out]

Here, take them.

...Clair takes them, and they're gone, after a brief but strong glow of light.

[catches Clair's hand and kisses it lightly]

...There. Hopefully that was for the best.

"If it isn't, I guess you'll find out." ...Their voice is fairly emotional, though.

Yeah. Good luck.

...They duck their head.

Is there anything else I can help with?

"It's not like I asked for help in the first place."

I know, but I'm still offering it.

"...I don't have any suggestions. You can do as you like."

[smiles wistfully again]

Maybe I'll just leave it at that for now, then.
