Beatrice's Heart

You find yourselves in the seats of a darkened theatre. The stage's plush red curtains are currently drawn closed, though there are stairs on either side of an orchestra pit, leading up to the stage area and backstage. Other than that, if you squint, you can see a couple of side exits to the left and right. Of course, there are doors behind you leading to the lobby and the main entrance.

There is a foul smell here, old and rotted flesh and blood, and if you look on the ground you might even see some of it.

[Is not really surprised, but stares at the mirror for a while anyway, his face carefully blank.]

Everyone wears masks... or elaborate costumes, was it...?

[And after a minute, looks back at the costumes again. There aren't any non-uniform Aather things that aren't dresses... oh well.

Takes the jacket off and attempts to pull one of the dresses on over his head...]

[Shush I am having feelings here that aren't going to be stopped by the ridiculousness of trying to get a too-small dress on enough to count.

Turns to the mirror again.]

Looks at the mirror for a while again, and slips his hand into his pocket to curl around the boost seeds for a second, considering. But eventually, mutters:]

...It's not my decision...

[And turns and replaces the dress on the rack, and rearranges his own clothes again, not looking back at the mirror.

Maybe I'll check out the door that's back here...]
