[The room is circular and surrounded by a series of ionic columns, the floor and ceiling stretching overhead fashioned out of cracked, white stone. The area beyond the columns is pitch black, and the room itself is lit only by dimly flickering candles. The candles rest on top of a stone table, which sits in the middle of the room.

[Inside the box is a small spear. The handle is made out of polished wood, and the tip is fashioned out of sharp silver. It glints in the. . . well, there isn’t much light, but it sure is glinting]

Remove a finger or a toe to continue, or pass the task to another team.

We could use the hope instead.

If something worse comes along later, as you said, we might need it. But if everyone would prefer to use it now, it might be better.

If we have gone from sickness to finger loss just like that, I hestiate to get rid of our free pass over a toe.

I suggest we pass this on to another team.

The likelihood of something worse coming up that can't be mitigated if we do is really high, though. [uncertain - WHAT DOOOOOO OH GOD MORALITY.]

...I'd rather take it myself than give it to someone else, but...

I think the odds are high that we shall sustain a similar injury regardless. I would rather minimize the cost to Amethyst, as I hope each team will chose to do for their own.

Good of the team over good of everyone else. [exhales sharply] I don't like it, but I'd rather not have to remove parts of any of us. And we can pray that whatever team gets it has hope if they don't want to do it...

I would prefer removing body parts not be an option for any of us. If that's the case, we can use the hope or pass it to another team.

Okay. Not overthinking this because then I'll start to get pissed, and that really didn't go well last time.

[deep breath] I vote we pass it.

If you think we'd better... it's only that losing a toe doesn't seem so bad compared to what could happen, so if we're going to take something ourselves, it might be better now than later, and I wouldn't -- [coughing]

I wouldn't mind doing it. But I know I said I wouldn't, so... whatever you think is best.

I understand Miss Jill. But simply put your toes are worth more to me than the toes of those who are not my dear teammate.

If we agree to do something like that, we are more likely to agree to worse things with the same logic of 'it isn't so bad, something else could be worse'.

I'm with Alaska. If someone has to lose a finger or toe, I'd rather it not be any of us.

Not that I like it either way.

I can understand where you're coming from. But other teams may possess medics or items that can be used to negate its effects. We currently only have the hope, which we don't easily want to give up if we need it later.
