Nothing is strange!

The other bedroom is identical to the one that had the rip in it, except that there's no rip, no ash, and the bed doesn't try to come to life.

[hm... digging around in drawers and under the bed then]

The dresser is again full of lady's toiletries. There's nothing else to be found.

[back out of the rooms and heading for the stairwell]

They lead down in a wide spiral to the huge castle kitchen. There's plenty of tables and polished utensils and a woodpile, though it doesn't seem like anyone's cooked anything here in forever. The fire's unlit.

There's a large set of doors out! There's also a small, narrow hallway in the back if you're paying attention, but it's farther away.

Also, a rip has opened over one of the tables, dropping soot all over the stacked pans there.

[well this seems familiar... let's checking out the table under the rip]

It's also horribly squirmy-feeling. So are the pans.

[hooboy... let's straightening pots then...]

The feeling lessens when you get them out of range of the soot.

Be careful, though -- when you pick them up and move them, light reflects off their polished surfaces, sending lasers into the walls.

[a;sldkj -- pulls off his newly ventilated jacket to cover the rest before moving them out of the way]

You've moved all the pots out of the way without further incident! Hooray!

[huff huff -- sigh... let's back to that table since it's probably still gross feeling]

It does! It's much harder to shove it out of the way -- it's heavy -- but you can manage. Now soot is just dripping on the kitchen's stone floor.

[messy... looks around for a moment before heading over to the fireplace, if there's wood, he's going to try lighting it]

There's no wood in the fireplace, but there's a large woodpile stacked up against the kitchen wall.

Assuming you pile it in and light it up, it blazes cheerfully enough! The smell of apple pie wafts through the kitchen.

[:3c oh yay apple pie! heading back to check to see if the pans are still murderous]

They're still minorly murderous.

Before you can do anything else with them, though, the world turns over.
