Inside the circle of statues, at the feet of each woman, a word is written. You can tell the words are all different, but they've been worn away with time and are unreadable.

Those your names, ladies?

[wandering around the circle- are the torches lit?]

It's a python poised to strike, incredibly lifelike and detailed. The four big fangs are copper, while the rest of its teeth are basalt.

[CLIMBS ON IT]

You're on top of the world! ...or the snake.

[looping the bathroom towel through the snake's jaws and holding the ends for makeshift reins]

The snake doesn't protest . . .

[andddddd reaching back in to try wiggling one of the copper fangs]

It wiggles! It doesn't seem to be fused with the statue, just inset in a socket.

Please don't die or try to eat me this time.

[plucking that out, and going for the others too if nothing happens]

Nothing happens until you pull the fourth one out . . .

Then there's a rumbling and a squealing of long-disused machinery.

More sparks..?

Sadly, no.

Instead, the snake begins to move slowly under you, the jaw grinding closed, the head swiveling . . . and the ceiling begins to lower.

Please tell me you know where an exit is.

It appears to be trying to turn its head around and eat you. Fortunately, it's still sluggish.
