[There are no real rooms in this game, but despite all the people, the Ring seems roomy enough that you can go off in a little huddle with your team without bumping elbows with any other team -- and if you’re the type to notice this sort of thing, you may realize that although you can still see and hear everybody else, their presence doesn’t really seem to intrude upon your discussion. It would be a stretch to say they’re muted. . . but somehow, things don’t get too loud or disruptive to your conversation.]

Or... how it's valuable?

A tin can doesn't look like it has any value on the surface...

Yeah, who knows where this tin can's been? I bet it was in some traveler's inventory.

Maybe he kicked it when he was bored.

Maybe he used it to hide spare gald from the big spender in his party.

And then used it to scare away monsters.

Only baby monsters would be scared of that, so maybe he was invading a nest, to get rosemary to help his sick friend.

Ah, excellent, I see you’ve chosen your tokens! Let us proceed. . . you see, I thought. . . well, these things may be trash, but surely they’re good for something. And to make a game of it, I thought. . . you might as well use your imaginations. So! Tell me, what is the best use you can imagine for your item?

You could make a game out of who could kick the can the farthest, or a baby monster scarer, you could use it as a cup i... if you wanted. You could use it as decoration, I guess...

Do we have to narrow it down to one?

Why don't we combine as many of them into a single use? The can you stored gald in, that you used to scare monsters, and then use as a reminder of your brave feat?

It's a decoration, reminding us of the time we used it to store gald, and then used it to scare away vicious baby monsters.

They’re a bit sad looking, aren’t they? Your tokens, I mean. So now I ask that you glorify them. Imagine them as bigger, better versions of themselves. Like a child’s clay model of a horse transformed into a real, beautiful charger -- tell me about the secret soul of your token. What is it the shadow of, the seed of? If it could grow, what might it grow up into?

Well... adding anything would change the entire point of it. It's nice as a tin can and gets the job done perfectly fine.

Maybe we could put a nice label on it? With a name or something.

Maybe... But I don't think it needs a label either. Do we want to put our names on it if we put a label?

We could give it its own name. Like a real member of the party.

I like that even better. Maybe... Canny?

Alright.

We would just a label to it's name. Even if it's sad looking, changing it too much changes the entire soul of it, you know? That something so ordinary looking could do something that great. It's a memento because it has a story behind it-- that time that a simple and ordinary thing became something useful and great. Because it's secret was that it was great the whole time.

My word! That’s a great improvement. Now I start to see them as they might be -- or, perhaps, as they really are in secret. But this will not do! Such grand artefacts deserve grand names, and grand stories. So, tell me -- your glorified item. . . what would its name be? For as any ship and any good sword receives a name, so should your creations.
