[There are no real rooms in this game, but despite all the people, the Ring seems roomy enough that you can go off in a little huddle with your team without bumping elbows with any other team -- and if you’re the type to notice this sort of thing, you may realize that although you can still see and hear everybody else, their presence doesn’t really seem to intrude upon your discussion. It would be a stretch to say they’re muted. . . but somehow, things don’t get too loud or disruptive to your conversation.]

Yeah. I could work with any of the metal stuff, but this'll be fine.

So what are we gonna do with it?

Melt it and make something out of it, is what I was thinking.

Sure, it's just plastic.

I didn't think plastic melted. It's not as if it's metal...

Yeah, metal takes way more heat, I think.

Ah, excellent, I see you’ve chosen your tokens! Let us proceed. . . you see, I thought. . . well, these things may be trash, but surely they’re good for something. And to make a game of it, I thought. . . you might as well use your imaginations. So! Tell me, what is the best use you can imagine for your item?

So in our case, what's the most useful thing we could make out of that much plastic...

There's enough here to make a couple of different things. I was thinking a little statue, but there's probably a bunch of useful stuff we could figure out...anything about this size.

We could still make a statue, nothing wrong with a bit of decoration. Maybe we'd get extra points if we made it of him.

... actually, have you seen this one before? Don't think I have.

Maybe of a swan, rather than him.

He's new -- really new. Percy thinks he came out of the world we went to a few days ago.

Let's make him a welcome back present then.

Can't hurt, yeah.

We were thinking we'd melt it down and make a little statue or something. A swan, maybe, as a welcome-to-Aather present for you. We could also make a cup or a fork or a spoon, or a bracelet, or a ring you could hold keys or stuff on. If we can't melt it, it still works okay as a comb, or we could tie string to it and make a toy for cats.

They’re a bit sad looking, aren’t they? Your tokens, I mean. So now I ask that you glorify them. Imagine them as bigger, better versions of themselves. Like a child’s clay model of a horse transformed into a real, beautiful charger -- tell me about the secret soul of your token. What is it the shadow of, the seed of? If it could grow, what might it grow up into?

We've more or less decided on doing that already. But we could talk about the statue...

I guess we could say something like...what something starts as isn't always what it becomes.

It's the ugly duckling that became a swan.

It always had the soul of one, we're just helping it reach its potential.

Sounds good. Maybe say that it has the potential to be anything, if it's just shaped right.

From the moment we saw this comb, we knew it was different. Special. To anyone else, it might just look like an old, broken thing, but to us it had the seeds of greatness inside it. It could be anything it wanted to be, but what we saw in it was the soul of a swan. A creature of the air, more beautiful than anyone could have imagined, seeing it as it is now. Free to go places that a mere comb could never go. How could we not help it realise that destiny?

My word! That’s a great improvement. Now I start to see them as they might be -- or, perhaps, as they really are in secret. But this will not do! Such grand artefacts deserve grand names, and grand stories. So, tell me -- your glorified item. . . what would its name be? For as any ship and any good sword receives a name, so should your creations.

Any ideas?
