Exactly. We'd be wrong twice, but we'd be guaranteed one, and we'd have a one out of three chance for two. Those are better odds than what we'd get if we chose randomly. The odds that we'd pick three are slim.

Unless something stands out to us, that would be my plan.

Well, I definitely don't think it's Heliodor.

That's just my instinct! Besides, they were excited about solving the mystery, and I think Rider's an honest kid, and he said he wasn't a fox.
crusthatecean: (i see you. i feel you.)

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
You do realize if we don't vote for them on that terrible logic, we're possibly giving ourselves none instead of our definite one?
heroinhisowntime: (8)

[personal profile] heroinhisowntime 2012-10-21 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
My instincts are good! And if we're do that there's no way we're getting more than one right!
crusthatecean: (don't judge me)

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
We have a shot at two, because in the last row we don't pick ourselves. You don't think Hiccup could lie?

I'm not saying he did, but it isn't solid enough. Unless there's someone in that row you're sure of?
heroinhisowntime: (15)

[personal profile] heroinhisowntime 2012-10-21 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
...My instincts say it's Sapphire! And if we decide that, that makes other things easier, right?
crusthatecean: (ffffffffff)

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Not in that row! In Heliodor's row! We're already voting for Sapphire!
heroinhisowntime: (49)

[personal profile] heroinhisowntime 2012-10-21 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that row. Well, I don't think it's Emerald either. The Iolite guy voted for himself, though... I don't know what to think of that.
crusthatecean: (you don't know what it's like)

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
He's definitely a sheep.

But no, I mean. Heliodor's row. If you don't think it's Heliodor, who is it? Peridot, Tiger's Eye, or Carnelian? If there's a good reason to go with any of them, I'll consider it. Otherwise, we vote for Heliodor.
heroinhisowntime: (16)

[personal profile] heroinhisowntime 2012-10-21 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Not voting for Heliodor when it's not them is a good reason...

Anyway, it's hard to tell. Tiger's Eye's not around, and there's only the one kid each on Carnelian and Peridot, and I don't know them very well... didn't you say that made it riskier? If I had to pick one, I'd say Peridot!
crusthatecean: (haters to the left)

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
I just don't think your reason is good enough! Besides, they said we may win on other criteria! What if having the best strategy with voting is a win criteria, you unbelievable moron?

I trust Rider, but I also don't think he's stupid. I also trust me, but I'd lie my ass off if I was a fox.
heroinhisowntime: (73)

[personal profile] heroinhisowntime 2012-10-21 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
It's not just Rider... Jason also talked to me about strategy and stuff...

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
What did he say?
heroinhisowntime: (49)

[personal profile] heroinhisowntime 2012-10-21 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
He said that if you're playing smart and don't have anything to hide you'd do stuff and try to lead people just to get a reaction, which seems like he's what he's doing, while the people with things to hide would be more careful.

I agree.

This is our best shot.

Even suspicious behavior could be a ruse.

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not inclined to trust things like "Hiccup said he isn't a fox." Hiccup isn't a complete fucking idiot.
godcomplexed: (look at me i am the oncoming storm)

[personal profile] godcomplexed 2012-10-21 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
For the best, I think. Even if Hiccup doesn't like to lie, there's little incentive for him not to. The only clues would be if we know someone is a bad liar and know them well enough to read.
crusthatecean: (gosh don't be such a CRAB)

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. There's no sense in it. Besides, she said there might be other criteria for winning. The best strategy could be one.
godcomplexed: (being very strange again)

[personal profile] godcomplexed 2012-10-21 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Good point. There's no reason for anyone to throw the game.

Though it this point it seems like the only pattern. Since we don't even have a hint of a clue as to even one fox, there's no way to guess patterns or anything like that.
crusthatecean: (every night in my dreams)

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
On the other hand, this idiot here is convinced, absolutely convinced, Heliodor can't be foxes for this exact stupid reason.
godcomplexed: (pic#1483769)

[personal profile] godcomplexed 2012-10-21 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Going with instincts is ridiculous. Now Tiger's a pal, but I don't think thats the way to play. Even if he thinks it's not four certain teams including us, that leaves twelve to be guessed randomly.

Terrible odds.
crusthatecean: (haters to the left)

[personal profile] crusthatecean 2012-10-21 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Unless he can give me a good reason or a different team to vote for, I'm voting for Heliodor, Sapphire, Jasper, and whichever team in our row has least votes. At the moment, Onyx.
godcomplexed: (birds come flying from the underground)

[personal profile] godcomplexed 2012-10-21 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds like a plan. I'll back that one up.
