Through the doors, you find yourselves in a small circular room that seems to be decorated much in the same way as the ring is decorated today. The curtains are in alternating colors of your teams, and in the center stand are three surprisingly lifelike, but faceless sculptures. They stand with their backs to one another, facing out to the chairs. About each of their necks is a cord that holds a sign written in a fine, looping cursive.

Of course it matters. Destroying your own property is your own decision, and destroying the property of the state is far worse than your neighbor's.

In the world outside of games, that might true. But here, in the middle of a game? Things like that don't matter.

How does it not matter? If she wishes for us to judge, then we should know that information!

I don't think she's going to give it to us, even if we do ask.

[crossing her arms with a loud huff]

Then in that case she is both foolish and lazy! If she wants for us to work for her, she cannot just throw these things out and expect us to do something! I absolutely refuse!

That is even more silly. I refuse. I won't have any part of this!

[. . . reaches out to ruffle her hair]

That's fine. Sometimes, refusing is the best option.

We still have to come up with something though, or else she might take it out on us. So how's sentencing all three criminals to a hug and a punch to the shoulder sound?

They could be made to bring us tea.

Does that count as a punishment delivered by our own hands?

It can be the crime of the person who brought us here for no good reason. They are to be serving us, so that is good enough.

That would be Mother herself, wouldn't it?

She is not my mother, so calling herself that is just another crime to add to her record.

She's not anyone's mother.

She is impersonating a queen. That in itself is a very serious thing!

[pauses for a moment, expression sobering, before he shakes his head]

She'll face retribution for the things she's done in the future. For now. . . in a game where she has absolute power, I'd rather not test her temper any more than we already are.

It is also treason to harm a princess.

Somehow. . . I don't think that would stop her, if she ever found reason to.

Then she absolutely should face the consequences of her crimes! Isn't that obvious??

[lays a hand on her shoulder]

It is. But a game is not the time for it.

[bristling] Then when is the time for it!!

. . . when we aren't subjected to the consequences of her anger should we incite it.

[stomping a foot] That's just foolish! What have we even done?!

Nothing, yet. But I fear if we attempt to punish the Persona in addition to the crimes we've been given, she wouldn't take to us kindly.
