There appears a small set of cards next to the liquor. You can read them, or you can implicitly understand them if you can't read.

"What feats have the heroes of Aather accomplished, I wonder? And what... exaggerations they may take? Before you, you will find prompts for your tales. You will write one for yourselves, for a set of knights, and for another team. I will select the most inspiring, as will your peers."

She tilts her head. "Ah, perhaps it is bad to encourage grandstanding..."

Yeah, I think that's the right direction to go.

Though the inspiring thing about something like that...hm, the inspiring thing about a life-or-death choice would be them choosing to say screw that and beating out a way where they both live, yeah?

I think it's what we're being scored on? Something about both her and the other teams selecting the most inspiring.

How could we set this up...hmm...they could be trapped together on a spaceship that's running out of air, and there's only one pressure suit. And it seems like they gotta choose who's going to live, and Dandelion's probably kind of freaked out but wants to save Karkat even if it means dying, and Karkat thinks that's dumb, and they argue a lot. And then Karkat punches a cabinet or something and it opens and some spare hoses fly out and he realizes that he can jerry-rig something so they can both survive just long enough for the rescue ship to get there. Or...hmm...something like that, but more dramatic somehow.

What's a spaceship?

A ship that flies between planets, where there's no air and it's freaking freezing. Normally the ship'd be heated and pressurized and all that, people travel that way all the time. But very, very rarely, things break down, and that gets nasty.

...Yeah, don't tell me if we ever end up on a spaceship.

The setting's not the important bit, though. Anything where they thought they'd have to choose who'd die, but wound up realizing there was another way and getting out of there both alive...

Nah, if you think people will get that, do what you want.
