The girl huffs. "And what is Mr. Bandit King's name?" she asks. "I am Mary Galan of Gardios."

Yuri Lowell.

In the edges of your vision, the building seems frayed - intangible? The edges shimmer eerily. You look closer but it's gone. Only when you aren't looking does it seem like something isn't quite right. You can't put your finger on it.

Mary smiles. "It's good to meet you, Yuri Lowell." She looks at Gailardia. "Go on, introduce yourself properly."

"...G-- Gailardia Galan of Gardios," he says, wide eyed and clutching Vandesdelca's pant leg. But he has sneaked out to beside him instead of behind him.

[holds his glance briefly before turning to Guy, holding out a hand for a fistbump]

It's nice to meet you, Guy.

He stares at the fist.

"Um..."

[mimics the correct gesture]

... Tiniest... fistbump?

[cute]

What are you playing?

"... Gardener..."

That shimmer at the corner of your eyes again.

[tries to follow it without alarming bb Guy]

How do you play that?

Out of the corner of your eye, the place is blazing on fire - you can feel the heat, smell blood. But in front of you, it's fine.

"By gardening... and picking flowers."

[... sighs heavily]

I think I should go inside now.

"As long as you don't steal anything," Mary chides from behind. She doesn't sound worried.

[ eyes Van]

I think I know better.

[Going inside]

... Vandesdelca straightens up a bit, prideful.

When you open the door, you open it to a half-built ruin. It's rubble. The tiling is still in place, and some walls stand, eerily perfect and unmarred despite the shapes being similar to fire damage - their edges are glowing with that same off, shimmering quality. Otherwise it's completely open to the sky, and you can easily see around you now thanks to this place being so reduced - houses nearby, streets, - all ruins. Every part of the town you're in.

Opposite you is the single structure standing, an empty fireplace and hearth. There's something on the ground in front of it.

[Picking up the thing]

It's Mary's pendant.

The area is instantly ablaze, and the full blast of this memory (Guy's actual memory of the event, that is) hits you - Mary shoving him into the fireplace, then bolting to him when she sees he'd left. She shoves him underneath her body and mutters to him while she bleeds out, and other bodies pf maids pile on top of her quickly. You can't move and blood is dripping on your face and fire is everywhere, and you're too scared to make a sound. The soldiers leave but there's still too much weight, and it feels like you'll never, ever get out --

When the memory ends and you come back to yourself, the time of day in the rubble has changed from night to morning.

[passing a hand over his face and through his hair]

Shit. Hell.

[And now to look for Guy ]

Well which guy the fatty one outside? Where u goin Yuri

[I am exploring the inside of this ruin listening for noises]

As you explore, in the yard just outside of the room you were in, you hear a vague rustle in the bushes.

[cautiously]

Guy?

No response.
