In the edges of your vision, the building seems frayed - intangible? The edges shimmer eerily. You look closer but it's gone. Only when you aren't looking does it seem like something isn't quite right. You can't put your finger on it.

so he moves closer to the building, taking care to leave plenty of room between himself and Gailardia's little party. once he's close enough, he glances back towards them, so he's not looking directly at it when he reaches out to touch the building.]
It seems the girl is rather attentive, though, to her surroundings. She straightens up in surprise. "Well!" She says - her poise is confident, unalarmed, approaching you while the two boys play. "Who might you be?"
inwardly, at least. outwardly he only seems absolutely horrified for a second or two, before fixing on a thin smile and reaching to take her hand, bowing over it and brushing a kiss over the back, if she'll let him.]
[As you cut back through the garden, the eerie, luminescent edging at the corner of your vision gets worse and worse, and it's difficult to tell if the area is wholly put together or wholly on fire or just... half-built rubble. You can see visions of all three.
