Room 2: Peridot, Coral, Sapphire, Tiger's Eye, Kunzite

[When you enter the rooms, they're fairly open and large, with enough space to spread out. On the walls are posters with a list on them:

1. Trickery/mischief?
2. Love?
3. Truth?
4. Snakes?
5. Masks?

Can you ask a question when it depends on the last thing asked? Asked thusly, what would you say? Say what you would freely, or falter? Falter on the same word, or manage to soar?

There is a strange humming sense of expectation in the air.]

((We're playing the questions game with a twist! Each question needs to start with the needs to begin with the last word of the previous question, like in the IC example above. There is a list of themes and starter questions if you'd feel more comfortable springboarding that way -- using one of our starters will not lose you points! You'll have the standard five hours, after which we'll cut you off, but you can pretty much go wild and have as many question conversations as you feel like before you call it quits and head to endgame..))

Constraints like these make it easier for us to talk about the same things over and over, don't they?
telltaleheart: (I'm not surprised)

[personal profile] telltaleheart 2012-09-09 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
They do, but don't they also make it harder to say anything of substance?

Substance is very much lacking when you can't make any definitive statements, isn't it...?

[personal profile] telltaleheart 2012-09-09 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
It probably doesn't have to be if you try hard enough, since you could construct some pretty elaborate sentences in order to fit in things you really want to say before you got to the question part, but that seems like it's going against the spirit of the game a little, wouldn't you say?

Say what you will, but it is still far more potent to be able to speak directly, or have you never experienced the power of clear statements as weaponized speech?
telltaleheart: (I'll bet you there's a song in there)

[personal profile] telltaleheart 2012-09-09 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Speech is always powerful, but what exactly does it mean to weaponize it?

...It is more clearly so within my own game, but even to someone entirely uninvolved with witches, do they not usually experience once or twice the cold assault of words pointed against them, submitted without room for debate?
telltaleheart: (if each attempted)

[personal profile] telltaleheart 2012-09-09 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
...Debate is impossible sometimes, in the face of something like that, yeah, but if it's that sort of thing, would pretending it's a question really take the edge off?
boxupallthebutterflies: (in the spring)

[personal profile] boxupallthebutterflies 2012-09-09 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
Off the cuff... any examples I can come up with would surely be damaging either way, but do you not believe there is a difference between someone phrasing it as a question and giving you the opportunity to respond, and completely shutting you out before you can even speak?
telltaleheart: (and still I'll never do anything)

[personal profile] telltaleheart 2012-09-09 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Speak either way and it hurts... but you're probably right, it would hurt more if there was no way to fight, wouldn't it?
boxupallthebutterflies: (and it's nearly gone)

[personal profile] boxupallthebutterflies 2012-09-09 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
It removes even your own ability to try to change things for the better, doesn't it...?
telltaleheart: (the kind of man who'd make a choice)

[personal profile] telltaleheart 2012-09-09 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
It does... even if that's only a false hope, would it still make it sting less to at least try?
boxupallthebutterflies: (you're the only home I know)

[personal profile] boxupallthebutterflies 2012-09-09 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
...Try to imagine, though; isn't hope rather wretched as well...?
telltaleheart: (if each attempted)

[personal profile] telltaleheart 2012-09-09 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Well... do you really think I have to imagine that hard?
boxupallthebutterflies: (just as I know my friends)

[personal profile] boxupallthebutterflies 2012-09-09 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
[...haha]

Hard or easy, whether or not I know the answer, isn't the point of this to make everything a question?
telltaleheart: (I will never do anything)

[personal profile] telltaleheart 2012-09-09 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Question or not, when it comes to the content you can say whatever you want, so can we switch back to a more cheerful topic?
boxupallthebutterflies: (wrapped in silver furs)

[personal profile] boxupallthebutterflies 2012-09-09 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
Topic of your choosing?
