❧ Emerald (Game 23)

You find yourselves in an ornate garden maze, hedges towering high above your head. If you continue to look up, you’ll see a dark sky, glittering with bright stars in unrecognizable constellations. The moon is full and bright. The leaves of the hedges are dense and dark green, riddled with bunches of tiny white flowers and the occasional cluster of red berries.

There are four exits around in the hedge around you, and a gazebo hung heavily with blossoming vines in the center of the small clearing. The air is hushed and quiet; your voices are clear, but other sounds are muffled, as if unwilling to break the silence.

After being stuck in a desert for a game I want to avoid anything that could symbolize burning heat, but I'll go with what everyone else wants.

I would have actually gone for the dragon . . . but I'm not good at working out what little pictures mean in these games. It's just the other things are kind of unclear. A dragon's just a dragon.

They are very large and touchy and violent about people in their territory.

I mean, I will go along with the majority but... [SHRUGS] All I remember is one being cranky we went to its lake when looking for a missing person and he and Tsuzuki got into a dragon fight.

To add an extra level of COMPLEXITY into this... Maleficent has a tower, and this is her game. So.

A little... but I'd still go, I'm not going to dig my heels in. Let's just pick one, I guess. I'm fine with the Sun if Lion's instincts are saying yes.

I'd prefer the north or south. If we have to enter the tower there's no clear way for us to do it, and if it is inhabited by something unfriendly we'd be at the disadvantage.

The dragon and tower are both clearer than the other two. A dragon gives us something clear to expect; the tower could represent a lot of things.

Dragon, sun. I don't really want to get involved in a tower during Maleficent's game when I'm not sure what it's meant to represent.
