PERIDOT

You'll find yourself standing in the middle of a brightly-lit kitchen, wearing aprons in your team colors. If you look around, you'll find the following things.
  • A drawer filled with knives, forks, spoons, spatulas, and any other kind of kitchen utensil you can imagine.
  • A bookshelf.
  • A cabinet filled with all kinds of dishes and pots.
  • A cabinet filled with . . . clothing and costume accessories.
  • A drawer labeled "???".
  • A refrigerator
  • A sink. Dishsoap and rubber gloves are provided!
  • A storage closet containing a 10 foot ladder, hammer, nails, string, a first aid kid, a mop and a bucket.
  • Flat counters to work on.
  • A pile of ingredients with instructions.
  • Two cauldrons, one labeled "meal" and one labeled "dessert".
You'll hear the voice of the Baker after you're done taking a look around.

"Today I want you to come up with one meal and one dessert. For each creation, you can use up to five ingredients for each. When picking ingredients, please keep in mind the kind of meal that you would like to make. Do you want to make one that represents your team? One that represents your wishes? One that represents your favorite color? I'll let you decide that on your own, but it is something very important I think."

"For each ingredient that is prepared correctly, you will earn five points. If you only prepare it partially, then you get partial points. If you don't prepare it at all and just toss it in, then no points will be given. The instructions are a bit unclear, but ask your kitchen helper! They might have an answer or two. Once you are done, tap the side of the cauldron and your meal will be ready! As I always say, follow your cravings and do not limit yourselves."

(OOC INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Come up with themes for a meal and dessert (not an automatic loss if you don't but it can add to your chances to win. Assume characters know that ICly).
2. Choose five ingredients for each that fit with those themes. Prepare them using the instructions given here. You can get anywhere from 0-5 points depending on how you prepare them. You can use more than five ingredients if you choose to but only five will be scored. Anything found in the kitchen can be used to help prepare the ingredient! If you're not sure if something would be in there, ping Celi in IRC!
3. Knights and any heroes that participated in the knight round have had the chance to receive clearer instructions.
4. Whenever you are done, turn in the themes you've chosen and which ingredients you used and how you prepared them.
5. Once you turned in your recipe, wait for results before heading to endgame!

Extra note: If the instruction says to "prepare it yourself", it basically means there isn't a particular instruction you need to follow.)

What if we helped something grow, too? That's a support method.

Yeah--and we've got a powder that'll make something bigger. The apples maybe? Meat might be weird in a dessert.

Unless we were making a meat pie. But sure, apples sound better.

How do we prepare all of this?

Let me see... [ticking things off on his fingers]

There're some special powders in that drawer, those'll help. The puppy candy just wants hugs, so does my teddy bear. The boxing gloves want something inside them, so I was thinking maybe the dishwashing gloves, and also the make it tougher powder as a bonus? The heart-shaped cookies should have their flavor enhanced, and we have a "to help protect" powder. The gingerbread zebra we throw around. The gemstones we have to sort by taste, I'm okay with tasting them if neither of you want to. The medicine bottle and anything else that's "prepare it yourself" we pretty much do whatever we want to...I was thinking we could put it in the first aid kit and put all of that in?

I'll help taste the gemstones. And that sounds good. Should we start? Maybe wash our hands first?

All right! We can figure out the last few dessert ingredients as we work...and yeah, washing our hands sounds good.

[little smile] Definitely! And maybe...one of the teddy bears that wants to fly? Because that's another way of supporting people, I think.

[scanning the bookshelf curiously, what sort of books are there?]
unionoftheheart: (hello)
