ROOM 7

[You enter a pleasant sitting room: there are nine plush comfy chairs in a semi-circle in front of a crackling fireplace, and a table set with various finger-foods and two carafes, one of water and one of wine. It'd be a very nice room ... if not for the dummy lying facedown on the floor with a giant butcher knife sticking out of its back and a little bottle by one of its hands, marked with a tiny skull and crossbones. There's a hangman's noose around its neck, though the other end looks rather frayed.

The pleasant voice of a woman -- not the persona -- begins to speak:]

Hello and welcome. I wish it could have been under better circumstances, but today has some interesting circumstances. As you can see, my good associate, Mister X, has met an unfortunate end. I've reason to believe it might be one of you! Shall we see if I'm right?

I don't have any physical abilities that would allow me to overpower an opponent, and I don't have the object that would let me conquer them from within.

I'm sure we'll find a way.

Not really. How about it, though? Put on your best puppy face...?

Puppy face…? [after a confused-looking moment, he manages this.]

[...laughing]

Now go on, show your secret weapon to everyone! I'm sure it'll prompt a confession.

Go and conquer, teammate.

And how about if it's you? You won't be so easily fooled.

I'm hurt! I was the one who brought up the suggestion, wasn't up? Obviously, I'm weak to puppy eyes.

I wouldn't use them against you anyway. We're teammates.

Ah...! To be trusted and accepted like this by my teammate, even after I revealed him my weakest point... I'm truly touched!

There's no point in a game like this, anyway.

I think it's fun. Though right now, I'm just a weak hero working hard for the community.

It's more interesting than some. I'm a frustrated bodyguard, apparently. If I was his, clearly I'm incompetent.

That would explain the frustration, wouldn't it.

I don't think his name is "the system and failed dreams."

It might be. He's just Mister X, after all.
