As dawn approached, the hero went into the forest and lured the werewolf back into the village. There, the other villagers lied in wait with their weapons, in case the hero's plan failed.

Fortunately, as the sun rose and the werewolf returned to its human form, the hero saw that it had a familiar face...The werewolf was an old friend from long ago, one the hero hadn't seen since they were both young.

The hero immediately asked what had driven her friend to take such a terrible path. The answer surprised her; all along the werewolf had merely wished to protect the village the only way he could. By taking the form of a monster, he was better able to strike down whatever threatened his home. The villagers had saw his new form at night and had assumed the worst, leading to panic. The werewolf never risked telling the villagers who he was out of fear that they would despise and banish him entirely.

Ashamed, the villagers laid down their arms and came together to talk of a new way to protect the village. The werewolf with his monstrous form and the hero with her blade would work together, to ensure the continued survival of their new home. And so, everyone lived together in happiness and peace.
