Judith's Heart

Before you can open your eyes, you can feel a peaceful sort of calm washing over you, like the pleasant feeling of relaxing after a long day of work. This does not erase any other feelings you were having, but it settles over you, tempering them.

When you open your eyes, the setting is familiar. You find yourself on top of the cliffs. It looks like it’s an hour before dusk, and the sun is bathing the scenery in a soft orange glow, its edge just touching the water. From where you are, you can see the beach, and the path to the cabins.

If you look straight ahead, you can see a door about twenty feet away from the cliffs. There is nothing beneath it. There are no markings indicating where it goes, but you get the feeling that this door will take you far away from Aather.

Your goal is to convince me, the gate keeper, to let you past.

[thinks, chewing her lip, then bows] Gate keeper-san, um... I've traveled across several worlds, one of them called Aather, to rescue my sister, who's been kidnapped by... um... the mustache-blob king. I've fought lots of enemies and even lost my sword (since I, um, don't have a sword with this outfit...)

And I know that the way I must go, to find her and bring her back home, is through your gate. So could you please let me in?

[blushing and looking pretty damn moe]

[Gosh, it really is hard to resist that...]

Surely you can wait until the morning comes, can you not?

But if I don't find her... The king said she'd have to stay in his underground kingdom forever, when the clock strikes midnight on the New Year's eve. And that's tonight.

[tearing up] I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been so slow, but I didn't know which world it was, and it's almost too late.
