Ahh, Sapphire's a pretty friendly team, even if Red was totally annoyed by you doing that stupid merge thing again. WHY CAN'T YOU JUST ASK BEFORE YOU FREAK PEOPLE OUT? Stupid cat. Anyway, Apple was really interested in healing and once Mau calmed down, I liked talking with him about his new teammate.

I guess I figured out that Allen's got issues with looking at himself in the mirror. Don't know if that's really a secret because it makes sense that he'd be self-conscious about that mark on his face. But there's probably more to it. I really didn't want to bug him about it. It's cool that some of Sapphire is helping him with it, like Selenia. Though it'd be better if he and Selenia told the others what's up instead of making up some story about hearing voices.

Then there's Sayaka's secret, which knew before the game from Akemi. It has to do with a really cruel and sneaky deal they made with this powerful being back home in exchange for a special wish. It's also why they're both magical girls. It's all pretty messed-up, but they're wishes are really impressive. I didn't know Sayaka's before now, but I figured it was for someone else, like Akemi. It's also way too personal for you, kitty-cat. If they want you to know, they'll tell you. Man, someone seriously needs to throttle the thing that tricked them. Probably that girl on Iolite too. Haaah, why does every world have to be so bothersome!

I learned Apple comes from a kingdom too and has a friend that lives there, kinda of like Sion and me, I guess. Selenia's world sounds pretty rough, with their being some deadly sickness outside and everyone having to live underground. It sounds like the guy really cared about his sister too... I'm going to guess that something happened to her.... He said they're refugees from above ground and were too young to fight, which is seriously weird because nobody's ever too young to fight in Menoris.

Oh, Breath is also something called the avatar. The "the" sounds like it's especially important. I'm curious about it since I know avatar means a stand-in for something and Paleon says in his world it's used to describe someone's form in a virtual simulation (whatever that means). It had Breath kind of nervous, probably because of his first memory about drowning, but he feels like a really powerful kid so my guess is it's got something to do with magic. Not sure how that ties into dancing though.

It was kind of cute (and that's really weird to say about knights!) that the knights missed hanging out with all the teams, even if Yuri's way too lazy to quest for enough keys to have more of them hang out in Onyx. The Onyx knights are the worst influence! Trying to make people smack people. That's a setup for something bothersome. And who knew Sword liked playing with non-violent weapons. She's kind of cute like that too.

Eh, I didn't mind. I mean, we're not as close to Sapphire as we are to Tiger's Eye, but I already knew some of them. Mau and Red. I met Selenia a few days ago so it was good to get to know more about him. Ferris would love him! And he's a pretty fun guy (when he's not singing. haaaaah, that was really painful.) I think it's a good thing for Amethyst to spend more time with other teams too. We've been getting nailed in some of the games that expect us to know about each other. I pay attention to most of them so that helps, but I think the others are still kind of uneasy about it, especially Paleon and Teito. Pascal's probaby the best of us. And... it would probably help Sky to not stare so much at people coming inside. That's probably really unnerving, ahh... But it was great to meet Breath and Apple. It's good to hear we have another person who knows about healing. That'll give Sion another thing he doensn't have to worry about. Ahh, she's really curious too. And it's always a good thing when Pascal can spend more time with Sayaka. I think she makes him really happy. And it sounds like Apple's leaning that way too. You better not share this, Jack!

Also, we really shouldn't let Teito near the stove again, ahh...

I learned that Fawn's real name is Charlotte. It's really pretty. She said it's not really a secret since she really likes being Fawn. Just like I like being Kitsunebi, even if that's not what my friends called me back home. But teammate names are really special. I also learned that Charlotte lost her father when she was a cub. That's really sad, but I'm glad she can still be happy. It's probably because she has a lot of friends.

Um, I already talked about Charlotte's past so I guess I'll talk about Raccoon. It's really nice that he catches fish so he can trade them with other people to help his friends. He called it selling. I wonder if I can do that with fish here. I can get special things for Tiger's Eye. Maybe the knights will help me. I'm going to ask Mikage or Ace. I also learned Dragonfly helps people by being a host. It sounds really fun and he gets to make people feel better when they're bored. I want to be one too!

I learned that Iris can do the same thing as Knife and me. Um, speaking in people's heads. I really liked spending time with Coral, even though it was a little scary at first. I'm not used to having so many people in our house. And... I was still feeling nervous because of my memory. But they were all really nice and wanted to help. They showed me it was all right to let them pet me and they told me about themselves and Dragonfly even made me really pretty! Charlotte said I can visit them whenever I want. I really like that. I want to show Dragonfly I'm sorry for it not being petting time when we first met. I kind of wish we could share with all the cabins every once in a while. Um, you should ask before you do that, Mister Persona.

Tavros told me about how his friend gave him an idea to personify his self-confidence. He calls him "Rufio," and he says it helps him feel more confident, pretending to be someone who's more self-assured. ... I think that's ... different, but it's interesting. If it helps him, then it can't be a bad thing to do.

Wrath was in the mafeya, which is a group about loyalty and having a strict code of conduct. I’m okay with loyalty, but “strict code of conduct” isn’t up my alley. Hazel and Assedia are from the same world and maybe in the mafeya, too. It makes sense that he’s mad at Vriska if he got taught “loyalty’s important” at home. ~~But I wish he’d like her. “I won’t hurt her” is like the lowest okay thing I could’ve got out of that conversation.~~ Other than that, uh, it’s kinda lonely thinking that he’s got so many people from home here.

So Tavros. I knew he was from Vriska’s world, so I was expecting something awful like “I had to kill people or I’d get eaten.” But actually his lusus – which is Vriska-talk for something like “babysitter” – was a bull fairy who played games with him. It actually sounds pretty cool. It’s weird explaining “mom” though. When the darkness is beat for good, I want him to meet mine. Maybe Vriska will explain “dad” before I talk to him about it again because dads are important too but it’s kind of awkward… or hey, shouldn’t Yukio be doing that?

Ugh no one but Tavros even cared about playing this game!!! All of Citrine made food, threw an island party, did impressions – and then on Ruby it’s just Tavros pulling off an owl party for everyone and being the only one doing an impression! It’s just frustrating going up to Assedia and Seetoo and going “let’s go have a party” or “let’s do impressions” and they give you that “wow you are a bug on my shoes” look!

But apparently Ruby still gets along with each other okay? I get this feeling that they’re super into each other and not into anyone else at all which is why they’re really rude when you try to get social or maybe that was just the ones we talked to (again Tavros = cool guy.) They probably thought the same thing about Burn too, but even he was on pretty good behavior for this game I think!

So yeah Citrine was really into it! We planned stuff together and talked together. I think this made us closer. We had a goal to work toward and we figured it out, so we worked together more than we did on a normal day of not having a game.

Plus . . . Vriska. I was still really mad at her going into this game for doing something so not heroic to Tavros before she came here. The rest of Ruby was finding out around the start of the game so it was going to be a Thing, you know? But being worried about what they were going to do made me get over being mad at her and I could talk to her. What she did was still wrong but it makes more sense now that I knew she grew up some place where everyone kept pushing her to do un-hero stuff. Her life was hard and it’ll be hard for her to start thinking like a hero.

But she’ll get there.

Yeah. I probably still wouldn’t be talking to her if it wasn’t for this game.

SEE???? THIS IS WHY TRYING TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK EARLY IS DUMB.

Tavros and Yukio are still okay. Wrath and Assedia belong in the Book!

She is young, even by human standards. By immortal standards she’s a newborn, but without anyone to teach control or finesse. She says she was afraid of people. She was almost certainly afraid of herself, and in her carelessness caused a catastrophe. She gathered together with others like her. They most likely had the same failings as she did, but found common purpose in protecting mortals. This is an unexplained transition from her earlier state of being ‘scared of people.’ At some point the organization altered its ambitions and shed corporeal form to rectify their earlier mistakes. She is too much a child to do any of that without guidance.

It was good to stay with my Brother, without having to lose Turquoise. That's been something I've wanted a long time.

... I talked a lot with Turquoise, mostly. Switching things up for us seemed to make us view each other afresh.

Cyclone returning in the middle wasn't insignificant either. Especially as it meant Tempest left. That rather flavors a game like this. I don't know if we can weigh or discuss it like a normal game.

They're not a bad team overall. I mean, all things considered, yeah? They're pretty quiet, but every time we've worked with 'em they've worked just as hard as we have for whatever stupid goals were necessary in the first place. And I know the rest of my team likes 'em--we had to work together in a thing by Mangy and Scaley and that turned out pretty well for all of us. (Even if we got colds later, but whatever. It was worth it!) I would at least trust 'em to pull their own weight and do their best to help out.

Hmm . . . I know a little bit about a couple of them, I think. Teito hasn't told me very much about his past, but . . . I know it was pretty bad, and that he's really private about it, so I don't want to push him. I think he's really slow to realize his own feelings sometimes, too. He didn't want me to think he liked Shuri from Carnelian, but it sounds to me like they have a similar relationship as me and Kyouko, except--probably a little better! I don't think they've ever been in a really serious fight. And despite everything, there are things I like about Kyouko, and it's really obvious Teito feels the same way about his friends, even when he tries to hide it.

I think more people learned about me than I did about them. But Teito did tell me he had some really bad memories that defined him even now. The more I talk to people about our histories . . . aren't a lot of us that way? Is it a coincidence? He told me he was a slave . . . it was really rude of me to dismiss that, but I was so caught up in my own feelings. I'll do something nice for him later! He's always listened to me when I've been upset.

. . . I feel like I lost sight of everything because of the memory I took. I'm sorry to Amethyst that they had to deal with that. That's not fair to them . . . I really wish we'd had more fun together, instead of something like this happening. Maybe the rest of the team did, while I was out or in bed. I hope so! But . . . despite that, I'm happy, too, because I never felt alone. I never really do, on Sapphire, because everyone's so supportive and understanding, but Amethyst is the same way, so I'm really glad we were with them and not anyone else. I had support from Sapphire and Amethyst both. So even if that was unfair to them, to burden them with those parts of myself, it helped me. Thank you, Amethyst!

I was actually kind of impressed at how much the knights were helping out... why can't they do that sort of stuff all the time? I guess it might be a little much. But I don't think we needed that much help talking to each other... and I'm not sure hitting each other with foam bats helped anything. But, well, mostly I did stuff I would have done anyway and got extra rewards for it, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

It wasn't bad! Coral's a pretty good team, and it was nice to meet more of them and get to know the rest a little better. And of course it's great to have an excuse for a party, especially if the knights are going to bring the food and alcohol to us. It was pretty tiring, though... it'll be nice to have everything back to normal, with only our usual lack of privacy and stuff to get done instead of extra.
