CORAL

[As the game begins, each team finds themselves standing in a small ring of stones. The crystal pillar rests in the center of the circle, easily within sight and hearing of everything that will be going on. You can leave and see the other columns if you like, but once the game has started you can't see what the other teams are doing.

Also present is a small wrought-iron table, on which a curious mechanical swan rests. There's a glass panel set into its back, under which you can see a corroded key. The swan seems to be completely lifeless.]

I can heal pretty fast. That should count as a blessing, and I don't mind sharing that.

But if we're sharing a burden that would make it easier on whoever had that burden.

[shaking his head] It says doubling a burden, not halving it.

So then both would have the same burden, nothing lighter?

[nods] Exactly.

I just think a blessing would be a nicer thing, and if we don't know the difference between the tasks...

I'd say we pick the blessing, but let's at least ask her what the differences are first.

Ask her what counts as a burden, too.

[nods! then tilts his head back to call]

Oi, old woman! What's the difference between the two tasks? Is one swan better than the other?

And what are you counting as a burden?
