Something far greater. The Personae act as if they are gods--but in the end, I don't think they have that ultimate power.

They're people, like us. With a lot of power, and sometimes with very strange minds and ways of seeing things, but...

We do. The item I left behind, at the previous task--that was a symbol of my belief.

Precisely. While a tangible symbol can be a comfort to have--it's only a symbol. It's not the real thing.
