You find yourself in a densely wooded area, in a small clearing, facing a cabin. The windows all seem to be closed tightly, and there is a red "x" painted on the door.

There are several narrow pathways leading away into the forest, but it is dim and misty in the approaching twilight. Vines hang low from the trees, curling slightly, and the air is hushed and too quiet. There are no sounds of birds or animals.

The door opens!

The cabin is small with only one room. But there are a lot of people here—strange, bizarre-looking people with buttons instead of eyes and shadowy hair, that move with jerky movements.

There are three "beds" set up in the middle of the floor, each with a shadow person in it. One of them is coughing. All of the other shadow people seem extremely distressed.

My name is Ventus, and this is my friend Cassie. We have some more friends outside. We're here to help. I'm going to need to ask you a lot of things pretty quickly, if that's okay, and I'd like to take a look at you and see if I can figure out what's wrong. [nodding to the coughing shadow person on the bed]

Do you know where the paths outside go? And is there something that we could bring from the forest that would help you, or make you feel better? Do any of you know a doctor who lives around here, or any source of medicine? And do you have water?

[after getting answers, will want to examine the coughing shadow-person and ask for symptoms]

One of the shadow people wrings its hands together. "We don't know where they go! One of us went to look for medicine but never came back . . . and nobody else lives here. We don't have water!"

[reassuring smile] Okay. Thank you. I'll tell my friends to look for your friend, and for water, as well as medicine. Is there a bucket or a bowl I could give them, to bring water in? And...one more question. Do you know what sort of medicine your friend was looking for?
