TIGER'S EYE

[You're in an oval, almost egg-shaped room, with a high dome and clear walls that allow you to see the other team's rooms, although you can't hear them. In the middle of the room is a table, with some of the items from the Ring scattered about. An ornate book lays there as well, open to the first page:]

"There were formerly a king and a queen, who were so sorry that they had no children; so sorry that it cannot be expressed. They went to all the waters in the world; vows, pilgrimages, all ways were tried, and all to no purpose.

At last, however, the Queen had a daughter. There was a very fine christening; and the Princess had for her god-mothers all the fairies they could find in the whole kingdom (they found seven), that every one of them might give her a gift, as was the custom of fairies in those days. By this means the Princess had all the perfections imaginable."

The Princess is already wonderful, isn't she? What more could you want in a princess?

We have enough that we could get all the two point things, or we can trade points to get some of the three point things.

I like the three point things.

It looks like we have a choice between a practical princess, a knight, or a classic princess...

[thinking...]

I think maybe trading for the boots is for the best?

Yeah, that's the point. We have to make choices.

If we use one of the zero-point things, we can get boots and something else. I don't know if we get something from not spending all of it.

Sword, shield, and boots?

And then whatever else.

I'm not sure either. If we were to use one of the zero-point things, the lantern's the most practical.

. . .

She doesn't need a sword.

Either the practical clothing and a lantern, or the gown and the key.

Generally speaking, I'd prefer the first one. If only because I'm pretty sure if she needs boots, the gown is going to get trashed, no matter how graceful she is.

Unless 'looking awesome' is one of her princess powers.

Good point.

A lot of stories also involve people who are smart and nice getting by without a sword as well.
