Pretty much the exact opposite. Most of the songs I know are sad.

We could have a slow, sad beginning, and then a frenzied middle part! Then it ends like it started, all mournful and stuff.

Do you think there's really a way to do that well?

Why not? I'm sure there's a word for what I'm talking about....a crescendo? Something like that, where the tune gets more and more intense, more overwhelming.

And then....wham bam, the song crashes! And trails off to a slow, sad finish.
