CITRINE

Inside the strange statue, it's bigger than it seemed on the outside--easily large enough for everyone to sit comfortably. Somehow, there's light...and a number of peculiar images on the walls.

[humming out loud]

Hm. I think either the books or the ballet slippers. You can be creative when you write, or when you dance.

[thinking]

The slippers look lonely...Maybe the books are better.
icysemblance: (are you sure?)

[sophie you're cute]

The books do look a lot more colorful. I'm okay with that if you are.

...never thought of ballet slippers as looking lonely before, though.

Yes, and the people in the books are being creative by playing outside their stories and words too.

The slippers don't have any feet to dance with them. That's probably why they're lonely.

That they are. I'm happy for that.

[fiddling with the little cage attached to her key, then nodding]

That's fair. Did you ever dance, back home?

[considers a moment]

I don't think so...Did you?

It feels like I did? I don't exactly remember. The way I know how to fight is almost like dancing, with the way I move.

[makes a thoughtful 'hmm' sound, then punches the air experimentally]

Is all fighting like dancing, or just the way you fought?
icysemblance: (and strike!)

Not all of it. But my style...

[give her a second. she's taking enough steps back that she can get a running start, then turning a forward flip before pirouetting towards the wall, her left arm positioned the way it would be if she were holding her rapier.]

[dusts her skirt off and takes a bow]

I think I had to have learned to dance in order to do that.
