You sit on the other side of the stage now, in an auditorium full of cracked and dusty stone chairs. It's cold and uncomfortable, but the stage before you still commands your attention, with the curtains now drawn back and shadows flickering upon it.

You are one half of a story to be played out today: either a hero or a monster. You must invent a backstory, motivation, set of powers, and anything else necessary for your monster or hero to defeat its opponent. Both consistency and creativity will be factored into scoring; for best results, tie their powers into their archetype as well as the backstory and motivation you give them.

The players in this show have been created! Now it's time to plan your attack. You can see what your opponents designed; give an explanation of how your hero or monster attacks it.

An abomination is supposed to be bad, but this one isn't. It's very cute, and strong, and fast. To definitely protect its small abomination friends. The cuteness will stun you. So it won't let anyone hurt them.

[shows her his sketchbook! there are no words anywhere on the page, sorry-- but it's a page of several sketches, one in the center and several off to the sides]

[the drawing taking up the majority of the page is of what appears to be an older man with long braids. he's sitting cross-legged, surrounded by different stylized symbols in the air: the paw of a wolf, the claws of a bear, a pair of wings, a pair of long rabbit-like ears, a rack of antlers...]

[off to the side are much simpler sketches. they all seem to be of the same man, but with significant differences-- in one he has the arms of a bear, in another he has the lower body of a deer and antlers, in another he has massive wings and a set of bird feet and claws, and so on]

Oh wow, those are really neat!

The shadows on stage flicker and follow your cue...then fade for the time being.

A pot of tea and some cups appear for you to refresh yourselves with.

-Like, um, maybe the mage and abomination talk things over? About... a way to make things right again without any fighting.

I think that way works out best for everyone...

[nods again, and looks between her and the stage]

Instead of fighting, the mage decides to try to talk things out with the abomination instead, hoping to find a way to make things right without any violence. After all, the abomination just wants to protect its friends, right? And it was all kind of an accident that this all happened...
