GM - Iolite

The room is like any other room, really—a cabin with a door, and windows, and beds. But the fireplace never gets warm, and the beds are hard, and the air is cold.

(Is it familiar, this place? It's hard to tell . . .)

On the table there is food—water, and dry bread, and there is a pot of stew that always stays warm, and full, and smells delicious.

There are also five cards, waiting for your decision.

[Okay, what the heck was that and why does this all feel alarmingly familiar?

Including being slammed into a room, ow. Let me just... slowly get myself into a more comfortable position...]

This seems a bit different from normal games somehow.

[I haven't even looked at the cards yet, of course.]

[Landing a little roughly and getting up after a moment.]

It is one of those where we try to maim each other.

Ah, and I don't believe we've met. Rook Joy Winchester. And you would be?

Ah yes...

[Well, have a polite bow, even in this situation, it's only appropriate.]

I'm Wing. It's nice to meet you, in spite of the circumstances...

Still, I don't know, something about the atmosphere seems... Strange. Even for them.

How it just seems a bit uncomfortable.

And nice to meet you, Wing. After this we can have a proper introduction in Iolite where it will be more pleasant.

Have you ever been in one of these types of games?

Son of a bitch

[gingerly picks himself up, looking around. this reminds him of absolutely nothing good.]

This can't be good.

You okay, kiddo?

I've been in a few, yes. Including one that started by killing everyone.

Yeah, I'm fine. That wasn't as bad as I was expecting, somehow. Still, this situation is...

Yeah. Kinda reminds of that time we, you know, got killed...

[glances at her, uncomfortable]

So. Cards now, huh.

Seems a bit different to me, though... Maybe it's just my imagination...

[But I guess we should focus on the cards...]

Oversensitivity to light shouldn't be too bad, as far as these things go.

[takes a look at those cards]

WH—

W-well. There's a lot worse in there, so uh. Yeah, let's go with that.

. . . And like last time, I'm gonna ask that we don't hit Carnelian.

I think we can avoid Carnelian, yeah. Can we avoid Amethyst too, though?

How do you want to play? To win? To survive? To to annoy the Personae that would run this game?
whereismypie: (thoughtful & shit)

It's no skin off my nose, kid. We can avoid them too.

Re: DISCUSSION

I'd... rather not play to win in this kind of game. To be honest, I'd rather not attack at all, but that's... not really a choice, and I don't want to get anyone here hurt because of me.

Heh. I like the way you think, Rook. How 'bout we annoy us some Personae?

Let me make something clear. If anyone is hurt, it isn't because of you. This is a game without choice. It is entirely for the Personae's amusement. So don't blame yourself.

You play to lose or you don't play at all. The options are not necessarily that delightful.

Just think of it this way. If you were a sadistic person running this game, what would spoil it for you? And then do just that.
splittheparty: (worried)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] splittheparty 2014-02-26 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
That's true, then...

[Let me think about this a bit...]

Maybe we should try an experiment this round? The rules say that if two people attack each other, the attack is neutralized, so... What about if we attack ourselves?

It's risky though. If they won't allow it, we'll be stuck making three attacks.
whereismypie: (smiiiirk)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] whereismypie 2014-02-26 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
You got a point, yeah. Besides, you refuse to play? They're just gonna decide for you. At least we keep a measure of control.

I guess a sadistic person just wants to see pain and suffering all around. I say we go down laughing, man.

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] beforehecheats 2014-02-26 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
That is an interesting thought. By the rules that means we stay at fifteen points and there is no harm done. Though I have a feeling they'll let it through and deduct the points anyway.

How much are you willing to get injured? And how much are you willing to upset Obsidian by being injured?
whereismypie: (sideways glance)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] whereismypie 2014-02-26 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
It's a good way to start.

I'm a grown man, injury's nothing to me, but Wing...?

[looks at her, questioning]

And Obsidian doesn't seem to be around - does he have to know exactly how bad it got for us? I don't want him to get worked up because of what happened here.
