ROUND 2 - KUNZITE

[ The room is different this time -- larger. In the middle is a table with enough chairs for everyone. A platter of cheese and fruit sits there as well. You can hear Three's voice, but not see her. ]

Rank the remaining nine teams in terms of value. You may place your own team as high or low as you wish.

[ Also on the table is a colored tile for every team but Ruby and a small rectangular container with slots numbered one through nine. ]

For me... I dunno, nobody, but I guess most of all Sapphire, Peridot, 'n Tiger's Eye.

... Amethyst.

Tiger's Eye and Turquoise.

Right, so that's two for Peridot, two for Tiger's Eye, two for Amethyst, two for Turquoise, one for Sapphire, 'n one for Citrine. Then of course there's Kunzite too.

...somebody else's gonna gotta do the rest of the math if we're breakin' up tiles.

Nah . . . the answer's simpler than that. Put half of one tile up top, half in the bottom slot. Then half of another in the second from the top, and the other half second from the bottom. Keep goin' til there's a whole one left in the middle. Everyone'll even out that way.

Uhhh.... I don't get it. I ain't very smart, okay, my last memory was like... a study group where I was tryin' to figure out how to find the area of a triangle and gave up in like a minute and ate animal crackers the rest of the time. S'pointless tellin' me how it works. But it sounds like you got a good idea so I'll trust you with it.

Basically he's saying its a way to make everyone equal. With math tricks.

There's nine spaces, right? We break eight tiles in half and divide them between the top and bottom spaces—ah, I did misspeak . . . Hang on.
