[ You find yourself in a grassy field. (Well, grass mixed with some clover and dandelion greens -- no flowers or buds though). It's dark out, though there is some light coming from a strange box to your left. There is a line of trees to your right.

Behind you is the sound of water. ]

Hmm… What do you think?

I think that box is pretty suspicious.

Well? Are you going to open it?

[grumbles]

[gonna go examine the hell out of that box :E]

[ it's wood and has four sides. Each side has a slit where light is coming out (the light isn't warm, just... light '-'). The top is bigger than the width of the box, so it has a bit of a lip to it. You might be able to just lift the top off . . .? ]

[lifting the top off sounds like a spectacular idea to me.]

Inside is a nest with an egg the size of a grapefruit. The egg is what is giving off the light and you might have blinded yourself a bit because it's really bright. ]

[YEAH BRINGING HIS ARM UP TO SHIELD HIS EYES.]

[okay maybe I will come over after all.]

There's some kind of egg. Don't look at it, it's really bright.

Oh! An egg~. We should take it, though, right?

[can I reach in without looking and pick up the egg?]

Should we...? I guess it could be a light source...

It's an egg, Viridian. We have to take care of it.

You get to carry it if you want it. Maybe you should just keep it in the box and carry it like that.

If you're really going to be like that, we could always use the bags, right? But I think we should be more careful with an egg.

It's really bright.

[rolls her eyes and picks up the egg before moving off towards the sound of water.]

[ the water is actually a small clear stream that runs from somewhere across the field into a bush of bright red berries. The berry bush is pretty tall but possibly you could wiggle through it . . . but who knows what lies past it? ]

Now what... go for the trees instead?

[picking a berry and tasting it '-']

Oh… I suppose, if you'd like. But children like food.

[ tastes like plum '-' ]

You think we should pick the berries?
